Hello FaithyJ.!
Tell us something about yourself, and your writing career.
What I enjoy most is the feedback. Whether it's good or bad opinions, both help me progress. I also enjoy thinking of ways to talk about topics in which no other author has talked about before. So I guess you could say… like to explore.
Also, I write randomly... Like whenever it hits me. This goes along the lines of not only book writing, but songwriting as well. For example; if I see something or someone says something that triggers an idea in my head, like I mentioned before, I will quickly jot it down in my notes on my phone. Then there are days where I sit in my room with my mood light on, plug in the music and just sit on my bed and write whatever comes to mind. This usually happens later at night because I'm a night owl like my Dad.

Where do you draw your inspiration to write?
Knowing I’m able to help others get inspired keeps me motivated to write. Writing, just like music, is also an escape. It's a release that allows me to write about whatever I want. A couple years ago, I was first motivated to start writing songs that were inspired by some of the things and situations I was going through.

What are you working on right now? We are currently about to release my new book just in time for Christmas, December 15th. Along with sharing some of my personal experiences, "It's Never Too Early to Start" is an inspirational and educational book that teaches what it takes to find your path in the fast paced world of digital entertainment, technology and what you can do to start making your dreams and ideas happen now! I also have new original music coming out in early 2016 along with some live performances, speaking engagements, book signing events and the anticipated explosive growth of our amazing company www.TeenTrep.co Then, if I am lucky enough… go somewhere with my family on a little vacay! ;) |
What are your main writing genres?
As of now I would say nonfiction, as this is my first book and I am also a professional songwriter.
How many books have you published so far? Tell us a bit about your work(s).
"It's Never Too Early To Start" is my very first book so I'm fairly new at the official book author thing.
What advice would you give to aspiring authors?
You have to make time. If it's truly your passion, the time will come naturally to you, like instead of watching TV or grabbing 30 minutes before going to bed. It doesn’t matter where you are, nothing stops you from writing if it’s truly your passion. Also, you need to organize your schedule. Plan ahead and make it a habit.
Do you use any professional services (ie. Editor, cover designer etc) or do you do everything on your own?
My company has a team of in house professionals in charge of editing and designing but I use Google Drive as my main source of working with them to get things the way we want them. However, in regard to what exactly keeps my writing flowing, I definitely plug my aux in and listen to music. Also, when an idea pops into my head, I also use my phone when I'm on the go.
